The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the 2nd case of MERS CoV(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus) which is a flu-like coronavirus believed to originate from the Middle East. MERS kills about 30 percent of people who have it.
CDC cautions those who are caring for those patients be particularly careful. Remember SARS in 2003 killed more healthcare workers(HCW) in Toronto than the general public! We need to remind our HCW “Do not touch the T Zone”, you may plant MERS CoV!
So for your own safety and family, friends and community, tell everyone to start teaching and practicing the 4 Principles of Hand Awareness diligently so they will have NOTHING to fear! This simple infection prevention is the best safety technique for unknown respiratory infections!
